The Catholic High School League has continually produced state finalists in football and has a rich history in Oakland County. Here’s a closer look at … members of the CHSL from this area for the 2019 season.
Our Lady of the Lakes 5/6 CYO football opened the season with a 33-6 victory over Holy Family last Saturday. A Holy Family touchdown with less than 30 seconds left in the game spoiled Lakes shutout bid. A well balanced scoring attack led by Geno Seets (2 TD’s including a pick 6!) and touchdowns from Gavin Bond, Zac Staelgraeve and Dylan Hamel.
The Our Lady of the Lakes CYO Varsity Football team began their season with a 12 – 0 win over Holy Family. It was a defensive gem, as the Lakers held their opponents to 27 yards of total offense and only one first down.
Student volunteers from Our Lady of the Lakes Parish and school in Waterford came across all sorts of debris cleaning up alleys in a Detroit west-side neighborhood as part of the four-year Life Remodeled project, which seeks to beautify 400 city blocks.
