At the MHSAA invite on Friday October 25, Junior Bailee Pfahl medaled & earned a spot at the State meet for the 3rd time in a row. She had her personal best for the season & came in 12th overall.
At the Catholic League Championships invite on Saturday October 19, Noah Rodriguez medaled with a 18th place finish and a course best time. Also, achieving a course best time was Chris Cempura.
Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School students attended the annual Junior High Vocation Awareness Day hosted each year for seventh graders by the Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Our very own associate pastor, Fr. Christopher, joined us at the seminary to support and encourage vocations, especially to the priesthood and consecrated life.
Jostens, the leading producer of yearbooks and student-created content, announced that Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School’s yearbook program has been named a 2019 Jostens’ National Yearbook Program of Excellence.
The Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School CYO 7/8 football team has earned a spot in the division C/D championship game this Saturday at Ford Field. It is the Lakers’ first trip to the CYO championship game since 2014. They earned this right by defeating the Ann Arbor Saints 8 – 6 in a very intense atmosphere at Detroit Catholic Central.
At the 35th Annual Gabriel Richard invite on Saturday October 12, Noah Rodriguez medaled with a 20th place finish and a personal best time. Also, achieving a personal best time’s were Chris Cempura, Edward Rapa, Jake Lowry, Hayden Fulford, and Dominic Luchi.
Our Lady of The Lakes CYO 5/6 Football wrapped up an undefeated season with a 22-0 victory over St. Charles Monroe on Saturday. Lakes finished the season 7-0 and ended the season with 6 straight shutouts. On the season, Lakes outscored their opponents 179-6.
Our Lady of the Lakes CYO 5/6 football won the C Division CYO Championship last Friday at Wisner Stadium with a hard fought 6-0 victory over the previously undefeated Guardian Knights. This was their 6th straight win and 5th straight shutout on the season.
Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School’s Homecoming celebration this year was a huge success. This year we celebrated decades and began by decorating the hallways of the high school to get everyone in the true Laker spirit. Both middle and high school students played games on Wednesday and Thursday with the senior class dominating.
