Senior Olivia Hankey takes first place at the Hanson’s Invitational, girls team finishes third overall. On Saturday, September 30th at the Hanson’s Invitational at Stony Creek Metropark, while competing in the State Division 2/3/4 event, Olivia Hankey finished 1st overall, while the team finish 3rd.
On Tuesday, September 19th, Oakland Christian in Auburn Hills hosted the Small School Invitational. Senior Olivia Hankey finished 1st overall, while the team finish 2nd. Three other OLL girl runners medaled at the event.
Most students wouldn’t come to school on a normal day if given the opportunity. Yet this past Sunday, the hallways, that would typically be dormant buzzed with the activity of students trying to decorate their grade’s hallway. This sounds abnormal, but here at Our Lady of the Lakes, it’s a tradition of spirit week.
On Saturday, September 16th the Lady Lakers Cross Country Team brought home the second place trophy at the 50th Annual Holly Festival of Races Invitational. Five OLL girl runners medaled at the event.
On Saturday, September 9th the Lady Lakers Cross Country Team finished 1st at the Genesee Invite. Four OLL girl runners medaled at the event. Those medal winners were Olivia Hankey (1st Place), Bailee Pfhal (4th Place), Kari Romkema (5th Place), and Kailey Korshorek (6th Place).
The 7th grade World Geography classes were very lucky to have one of our very own Laker Alumni, Staff Sergeant J.D. Mullins, come in to speak to our class on August 29th. Staff Sergeant Mullins graduated from Our Lady of the Lakes in 2014, his younger sister Kailey is currently a 7th grader.
