The 7/8 Girls Basketball team will be taking on a tough St. Clair Shores St. Joan of Arc team in the CYO Regionals this Saturday, March 4 at 12:30 p.m. at Madison Heights Bishop Foley High School.

Our Lady of the Lakes (14-4) have a bye tonight and will play Novi Franklin Road Christian (15-4) on Wednesday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Auburn Hills Oakland Christian (3075 Shimmons Rd., Auburn Hills, MI 48326). Tickets will be $5.
Our 6th grade students have started a computer science curriculum called CS-First. It is developed by Google and the students get to learn the basics of computer programming. As a part of the curriculum the students learn to code using an online program called Scratch.
Here at Lakes, we aren’t just a school, we are a family. And what is the definition of a family? A family is a collection of people that love each other, of course! Why not come together as a family and share a little love? The middle school held a dance to celebrate and enjoy a few hours to just relax and stay in each other’s company.
In the wide landscape of girls high school basketball in Metro Detroit, there is a wealth of competitive Class A and Class B programs. Yet, nestled in the outskirts of the metro area, there is a small girls basketball program that has been making a name for itself as a Class D state power.
The Kids Speak Out contest is sponsored by The Breakfast Optimist Club of Waterford. This program is designed specifically to provide a way to get younger students involved in pubic speaking. Students are encouraged to develop writing and speaking skills which will prepare them for higher level competitions in middle and high school

Last Friday, the 10th of February, our church hosted a ceremony as well as refreshments and snacks afterwards for the residents of Lourdes Nursing Home. Our eighth grade students each partnered up with a resident. As each student buddied up, the Bishop and our associate pastor prepared for the Mass.

Last Friday, February 10, Our Lady of the Lakes high school students had a special treat. Josh Sawicki, Alumni Coordinator, and Leah Preston, 6-12 School Counselor, organized an alumni career fair.
An MSU [and OLL] alumna has utilized craft beer to bring people together globally. Shannon Long, founder and owner of Brew Export, cultivated her business idea while studying at MSU. Long’s international business takes craft beer from across the nation and ships them overseas to areas of the world where the demand for the type of beer is high.
Our international students celebrated the Lunar New Year with many of our homegrown Lakers! Together we celebrated the beginning of the Year of the Rooster.
