This past weekend the Lady Lakers Cross Country team made school history finishing first overall at the MHSAA Cross Country Regional 36-4 meet guaranteeing them a team appearance at the State Final. For the fifth time in the past six seasons a Lady Laker was crowned as Regional Champion.
Over the weekend, some tremendous Our Lady of the Lakes students, from 8th -12th grade, were recognized for their outstanding achievement both on the field and in the classroom.
In July of 2017, Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School contracted with Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) to use their MAP assessment for students in grades Jr. Kindergarten-10.
On Saturday, October 21st the 2017 CHSL Cross Country Championships were run at Kensington Park in Milford, MI. In a repeat performance, Olivia Hankey finished first in Division 3/4 earning CHSL Champion and All-Catholic Honors. The girl’s team finished 4th overall, and first among Division 4 teams.
Michigan State University recently held its 19th annual HATS OFF recognition ceremony honoring high achieving middle school students in Michigan who took the SAT test or ACT test as part of the Northwestern University Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS).
Last year Our Lady of the Lakes participated in a school fundraiser sponsored by SchoolStore. This is an online fundraiser that does not require any door-to-door selling.
Last month, in St. Joe’s Hall, an annual gathering of Laker greats took place. Over 60 Laker alumni, families, coaches, and friends joined together in inducting three new members, and two state championship teams into the Michael Boyd Honorary Hall of Fame.
OYAL OAK >> The Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes Lakers defeated the Royal Oak Shrine Knights 19-13 on Saturday afternoon in Catholic League action. The Knights’ offense struggled all day aside from a couple of long runs by running back Dan Romano.
